The birth of Foodlattio

Hello, I’m Aisha and I am a foodaholic.

If weight gain did not correlate with food intake, my whole life would be about food. I’d eat LOADS of it, breathe it, swim (although I can’t swim) in it, drown (since I can’t swim) in it. I’d speak the language of food and my body would be food. I’d probably end up eating myself.

I like making and eating different combinations and flavours, as long as the outcome has a real genuine good taste like that one time I made a plum and cardamom sorbet.

I love manifesting newness with food. You know how some people get inspired by seeing a dog on the street and then they go home to make a song or painting? I do the same with food. I see something I like and then I process it in my mind and recreate it using food. Like when I watched Django Unchained then spent the whole day making a crimson-splattered white cake.

I’m very unaware of what is socially acceptable and what should go with what; one time in school we had a social evening where we were given drinks and nibbles. I was about to mix my glass of white wine with red wine just to see what it would taste like but from across the table my best friend looked at me like I was committing the biggest crime known to man. I would happily jeopardise my social status for culinary pleasure.

I find pleasure in food; the process of making it and the art of enjoying it. And so Foodlattio was born. Here is where I share the pleasurable experience of food.

Ps. I’m pretty sure I’m as obsessed with food photos as you are but please credit my photos/link them back to my blog if you use them.

    • It’s my absolute pleasure, it’s so refreshing to see new recipes and follow a fellow food lover like yourself. My warped way of thinking is that I’m allowed to eat whatever I want as long as I balance it out with exercise. Cake cake cake, run run run.

  6. I love your blog! Your passion for food and your beautiful pictures tell me how much you love food. I would DEF recommend working in any restaurant or hotel to get the experience of the commercial kitchen. As a chef and having over 5 years of experience, I have learned soo much and still love to learn new ideas in the kitchen. PLEASE update more and thanks again for showing some kindness and love to my blog! 🙂
